Total Language Plus is a literature-based, innovative curriculum centered on the development of thinking and communication skills. The authors believe an integrated system is more efficient than a fragmented approach, discovery style learning is the most effective, and learning should be enjoyable. | Consider reading, developmental, and maturity levels when choosing a novel study. Some books deal with mature topics that reading level alone does not indicate. Your students may be mature for their age but not ready to tackle heavy subject matter. A book children may breeze through on their own may prove challenging when used in this program. Recreational reading is not the same as studying! Read through the catalogue and consider books that work with your particular situation. Our grade level designations are suggestions, not law. Reading level is much too subjective for us to decide what every fifth grader, or seventh grader, or high school level student should read. Do pay attention to cautions and recommendations under "Barbara's Notes" to help guide your choices. |
